Lip stains - comparison of 3 brands
I originally posted this in product_reviews but decided it was appropriate here if people are still reading. Anyway, this is what I get for delaying on putting out a review - one of the product lines has since been discontinued!

Hair glazes?
Has anyone tried the new John Frieda shampoo hair glazes? It's supposed to be just kind of a wash in light color, to enhance the color you already have?

I was going to buy it today but decided on consumer research first since I used the dumbass "blonde" products he first put out, the shampoo, conditioner, hair gel...AND GOD DAMN IT my hair didn't change a bit.

I've got some self applied gold highlights but as summer approaches, I'd like to lighten it a little. I have some lemons in the fridge for emergency blonde situations. : D

Thanks to my uber generous friends, I now have six (6) little pots of MAC eyeshadows. Yesterday I tidied up a little, and I arranged the makeup on my cabinet. I wish I had a digital camera so I could show you how pretty they all look, six beautiful bright colors lined up neatly.

Yay for makeup!

I just wanted to say that along with my quest for the perfect, comfortable bra, I have long suffered looking for the perfect foundation (both texture and color)

today, because it was 125 god damn degrees, we went and walked around the mall. I went to M.A.C. and found the solution. I bought the studio fix powder and the liquid concealer to dab on splotchy parts.

LOVE IT. I was flushed from the sun and sweating and it took care of it all and smoothed out the whole thing.

40 bucks for both, but it's perfect.

How do I choose a concealer? I'm told I should go "two shades lighter than my base," but I don't know exactly what that means. Is there a consistent spectrum from manufacturer to manufacturer?

The base I use now is Classic Beige.

After accidentally leaving my Great Lash (or whatever it is - the green and pink tube?) in the car on a really hot day a few weeks ago, I found it completely ruined. Went to Walmart to get some new mascara, and decided to try Maybelline .. XXL volume + length microfiber mascara. I'm reading from the tube, here. It's the stuff with the white gunk that goes on first and you let that dry and follow up with the black stuff.

I can't say that it gives me that much volume - my eyelashes aren't that thick to begin with. HOWEVER, this stuff won't smudge on me. Usually, after working all evening and getting kinda sweaty and gross, I have smudges all under my eyes. I have yet to experience that with this stuff, which I wear every day.

Just thought I'd throw that out for anyone who is looking for something less smudgy and not too expensive.

What's this silver eyeliner stuff all the kids are talking about? Is it really a good idea?

MAC Blot Powder and Tinted Lip Conditioner
Over the weekend, I finally replaced a lost compact of MAC's Blot Powder - very lightly tinted powder that's great at soaking up oil. Apply right over makeup, or use even if you're going without, as it's very subtle. The MAC makeup consultant recommended for me, even with my very pale skin (and my assurances that I would not be tanning), that I use the Medium tint, and I can confirm that it's quite good at blending in with my skin.

And I think I may swoon - they have a new lipstick/sunscreen product out, Tinted Lip Conditioner line in SPF 15 and 7 shades. Maybe it's a good thing I didn't notice this at the counter while I was there.

Product review!
Hi darlings.

A while ago I bought Clinique's Moisture Surge Face Spray. The recycled air in my office is so drying, so I went to the makeup counter and asked if there was a product that I could spray on over makeup that would give some moisture. Voila! I ended up with this stuff. After using it several times, I am quite pleased with it. The bottle lives in my bag and when I start feeling my face get all tight and dry, a couple squirts and all is better. I don't wear a lot of makeup so it's hard to tell if it really has an effect on that, but it doesn't seem to.

My name is Jessica and I can't put on my makeup correctly.
Hi, Jessica.

I'm having a problem mainly with foundation. I've tried everything from the cheapest stuff to the most expensive. I've tried the liquid, I've tried the liquid powder and I have MAC Studio Fix. I can't really find anything that I LOVE!

Any suggestions on an out of this world foundation? And how do you apply it for it to be even, but still maintain maximum coverage (hands, sponges, etc)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What's the best cosmetic invention ever?

I'm going with those oil blotting sheets. I freaking love them. How did I ever live without these things?

I got a little bag of freebies last week when I bought new toner from Clinique. I played with some of it and, weirdly, I actually like it! Especially the light pink lip gloss. Subtle but cute.

I also got (as in, paid for) green eyeshadow. I like to wear green because it makes my eyes look green, but this might be too much for me. Jury's still out. Wish I had a digital camera to show y'all.

Do not waste your money on Maybelline XXL length mascara that has the white primer you put on first! Man it doesn't do crap. UGH! I wonder how much money I have spent on trying new mascaras?
